Kent Sangster has been an integral member of Canadaís jazz scene for over 10 years. A highly respected saxophonist, educator, band leader, composer-arranger, he approaches each project with passion for discovery and a confidence derived from years of experience.
Having already released three original jazz albums and soared through countless performances and recordings with some of Canada top jazz personalities, Kent has built a career that has earned him status as one of Canada's finest jazz saxophonists.
Kentís latest CD A Matter of Time (June 2003) has gained rave reviews both here in Canada and In Europe. In addition to his new CD, Kent also has two other CD releases, Adventures (1995) and Keeping the Spirit (1998). The later recording earned Kent an Alberta Recording Industry Award for Best Jazz Artist as well Best Instrumental Artist.

In addition to his recording and performance career, Kent has orchestrated a variety of music for symphony orchestra. Most recently Kent orchestrated and conducted two performances of with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra featuring Juno Award winning artist Lester Quitzau.
Kent also holds a Master of Music degree in studio jazz Writing from the University of Miami, where he was a graduate assistant in improvisation and ensemble direction. Currently residing in Edmonton, Kent is a staff member of Grant MacEwan College as well as a busy clinician and artist endorsee for Keilwerth saxophones.
